Traders in Abia State have been informed that the Enforcement Team of Abia State Government on market approved taxes and levies collection will start collection drive in all the markets starting with Ekeoha shopping Centre ,Aba on Tuesday, 1st September, 2020. The Age. Chairman/Chief Executive Abia State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Celestine Boyle Ahaoma Agbara made the assertion in a statement in his office . Mr Agbara said that the on going sensitization of traders by their executives which started on 27th August , 2020 is in line with Government policy on revenue collection. He said that the approved total amount for taxes and levies remain Eighteen Thousand Naira only for traders while total amount not paid at all must be paid or complete the remaining amount on initial payment made.
Reproductive health advocates and other stakeholders that were participants in the webinar series organized by the Network of Reproductive Health Journalists of Nigeria (NRHJN) have called for the criminalization of sexual harassment in all sectors of society. Making the call, the Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, FCT Chapter, Barrister Hauwa Shekarau asserted that beyond the higher institutions of learning, sexual harassment has eaten deep into the fabric of society. While acknowledging the National Assembly for deliberating on the sexual harassment bill, Shekarau who was guest speaker at the webinar, argued that the scope of the bill should be expanded to cover sexual harassment in the workplace and society at large. She argued that sexual harassment used to be difficult to prove but now, in the age of the GSM and Social Media, it has become possible to have evidence to present at the law court.
