Reproductive health advocates and other stakeholders that were participants in the webinar series organized by the Network of Reproductive Health Journalists of Nigeria (NRHJN) have called for the criminalization of sexual harassment in all sectors of society. Making the call, the Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, FCT Chapter, Barrister Hauwa Shekarau asserted that beyond the higher institutions of learning, sexual harassment has eaten deep into the fabric of society. While acknowledging the National Assembly for deliberating on the sexual harassment bill, Shekarau who was guest speaker at the webinar, argued that the scope of the bill should be expanded to cover sexual harassment in the workplace and society at large. She argued that sexual harassment used to be difficult to prove but now, in the age of the GSM and Social Media, it has become possible to have evidence to present at the law court.
